I'm trying to create a Business Profile in Twilio Trust Hub to verify a toll-free number. My profile keeps being rejected with error 18602 ("Business ID could not be verified") despite using a valid, IRS-issued EIN. My setup:
Business type: Sole Proprietorship EIN issued: June 25, 2026 (brand new) Legal name entered exactly as printed on IRS CP 575 letter Country: US
What I've tried:
Resubmitting multiple times with exact CP 575 name and EIN Leaving BRN blank and selecting "Other" as ID type Clicking "Continue without resubmission" which put it into human review — still rejected with same error Emailing trusthub-verify@twilio.com three times with no response
My theory: The EIN is newly issued and hasn't propagated to the third-party verification database Twilio queries (likely Dun & Bradstreet). Sole proprietor EINs don't appear in public business registries, only in IRS records. Has anyone resolved 18602 for a brand new sole proprietor EIN? Is there a manual verification path or a workaround?
